Note: Meeting moved a week later to facilitate participation in the Casino fundraiser on June 8.
With Solar Flux over 150 and multiple X-class flares per day, we are seeing (hearing) increased QRN and anomalous low signal strength DX appearances. HF blackouts have also become common with the arrival of higher solar activity. Commercial WBFM signals from distant stations have also been observed.
Much of the observed propagation can be explained by conventional aurora, F2 and Es electromagnetic phenomena. Other causes may include meteorological phenomena, volcanic activity and unusually high meteor scatter events as well.
